The annual Children's Art Show will open with a reception at the gallery, 607 Mena Street, on Sunday, April 4, from 1 to 3 pm.
This year we will have entries from many area schools including those in Mena and as far away as Wickes. The art will be by children from Kindergarten through the eighth grade.
McDonald's of Mena is generously sponsoring this show, providing funds for awards and ribbons. Judging will be done by a panel of artists from the gallery.
In a recent interview, Shelly Hunter, who teaches art at Wickes, said, “Exposing children to art classes encourages creativity and problem solving.” From what we have seen at previous Children's Art Shows, we have some extremely creative children in the community.
Don't miss the opportunity to come and see what they can do. The show will remain on display through Tuesday, April 13. Gallery hours are noon to 3 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday. Admission is always free.
