Sunday afternoon, May 2, a reception at the Mena Art Gallery formally opened the exhibit for May: a show devoted entirely to pottery created by local artists.
Five potters have work on display: Suzanne Manis, Lou Alderman, Ruby Thacker, Howard Goins, and Diana Licata. Many of your friends and neighbors in Mena were there to meet the artists and see their latest creations.
There are bowls of all shapes and sizes, mugs and jugs, bread baskets and fruit baskets, pitchers, and some that are simply decorative pieces. Almost all of the pieces are for sale, so this is a great time to pick up something special.
The show will remain on display at the gallery, 607 Mena Street, through the end of May. Gallery hours are noon to 3 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 1 to 4 pm on Sunday.
